The Groteska Theatre

Jewish culture in Krakow

Krakow is not only about Polish culture and tradition. Krakow’s history is strongly connected with the Jewish culture as well. There are many tours in Krakow that contain sightseeing Kazimierz – Jewish district.

Since XIV century the eastern part of the city was the Jewish district. Actually, since the XIX century „Kazimierz” was more like the different Jewish town than just a district. The borders of that city went along the Miodowa Street, St, Wawrzyńca Street, Wąska Street, Józefa Street and Bożego Ciała Street.
